Position Summary

The Strategic Account Manager will be responsible for creating sources of business for the Direct IT team to achieve forecasted revenue goals. They will understand and practice TBayTel’s basic principals and values while supporting the company, division and team goals and objectives, while actively leading the promotion, sales and service of all Direct IT solutions in conjunction with TBayTel’s business solutions.     

Major Responsibilities

  1. Achieve sales targets in all revenue categories. Identify, qualify and communicate new sales lead opportunities to appropriate team members. Develop and implement strategic initiatives to meet corporate and departmental ends.
  2. Provide current, accurate and pertinent updates on progress to the VP – Direct IT - Managed IT Services and Executive Management Team.
  3. Direct the sales contact activity with customers for the Direct IT team. 
  4. Arrange for and lead in-depth reviews with Direct IT customers; establish multiple contacts at the senior management level in each assigned account. Review, analyze and understand customer operations, culture, value, goals, financials and processes.
  5. Lead the process of responding to internal and external customer requests. Facilitate productive relationships and provide leadership and direction with key internal contacts and departments to ensure responsibilities are delegated accordingly and projects are initiated, co-ordinated and implemented to meet customer and company needs.
  6. Establish a leadership role on the Direct IT team, mentor and coach other sales and support positions within the organization.
  7. Implement, execute and provide input and constructive feedback on all related marketing campaigns and sales promotions.
  8. Represent Direct IT on project committees. Actively participate in new product and project development. Make recommendations of a strategic nature to management.
  9. Maintain a thorough and current customer database including the entering of detailed business related notes and sales strategies in CRM tool.
  10. Maintain current SWOT analysis to identify TBayTel’s positioning with individual customers as well as to evaluate competitors. Obtain and share competitive intelligence.
  11. Maintain a high profile in the community and represent Direct IT at various functions and events.
  12. Administer, co-ordinate, measure and evaluate the day-to-day marketing, promotion and advertising activities for TBayTel Managed IT Service.

Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in Business and/or Computer Sciences with 5 years of outside sales experience at the strategic level with proven success
  • Experience with the direct sales of telecommunications products is an asset
  • Advanced computer skills with an emphasis on the MS Office Suite (i.e.; Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Possesses excellent written and oral communication skills and possesses the ability to communicate with the public and all other company stakeholders with the highest standards of business etiquette and integrity.
