Q. Do I need to be able to see one of the towers to get the service?

A. Yes, an antenna unit, which needs to have a clear path to one of the towers, will be installed on your home.

If there is no clear path, TBayTel can install a mast up to 50 feet for an additional charge. The charge for the mast and installation is $300 (to be billed with first months service) or you can choose a Three Year Contract at a rate of $43.95/month and the $300 will be waived.

Q. will I be billed for the installation visit if the installer can't get a signal?

A. No if the installer can’t get a signal you will not be charged for the visit.

Q. What type of equipment will be installed at my home or business?

A. Depending on your location, one of two units may be used. Both units are relatively small, and are similar to a sattelite television dish. TBayTel will also install a cable from the unit to your computer along with a small indoor power supply.

Q. Will weather disrupt my service?

A. Under normal circumstances weather will not disrup your service, however, under extreme conditions service may be effected.

A. Yes, the system employs industry standard encryption techniques to ensure your data is not visible to others.

A. The service is comparable with any other type of broadband DSL or Cable Service.
