What is the TBayTel Medical Alarm?
TBayTel Medical Alarms provide peace of mind and safety for your loved ones. Just a simple push of a button, and a TBayTel operator will summon the assistance as needed, whether it be an ambulance or family member.
The unit is water resistant to a depth of one metre and is suitable for use in extremely harsh environments as it is constructed from a high impact plastic.
Each transmitter contains a lithium battery with a 10 year life expectancy and is also available in a "necklace" version. The Medical alarm connects to an existing telephone line within the subscriber's premises and dials to the TBayTel U.L.C. Monitoring Centre. We would then attempt to contact the subscriber and if we are not successful, we may dispatch the local ambulance or contact a friend or family member.
TBayTel is also in partnership with Thunder Bay Ambulance for the "Safelock Lockbox" system. This is a rugged box that is attached to the subscriber's entry door. Within the box is a key to unlock the appropriate door to allow the ambulance attendants immediate access. Each ambulance attendant in the City of Thunder Bay has access to the key to unlock this box when responding to an alarm.
TBayTel Health Line:
- Assembled and monitored by TBayTel employees in Thunder Bay.

TBayTel Health Line Requires:
- Lockbox: A Lockbox is affixed to the outside of your home and contains a key to allow the ambulance attendants access in case of an emergency.
- Telephone Line Seizure Jack: A line seizure (or 8 pin) jack ensures that the medical signal reaches the monitoring station. Even if the phone is off the hook or if someone is having a conversation on the phone, the line seizure jack ensures that the medical signal receives priority.
