Before changing the batteries or moving any existing security sensors or equipment you will need to put your security system on system test. This can be performed by calling the Tbaytel monitoring station at 807-345-2739 and picking Option 1.

There are several different variations of door/window sensors that are compatible with Tbaytel security systems. Each variation will also have different battery requirements, but most Tbaytel door/window sensors require CR123A batteries.

Low Profile Window & Door Sensors

1. Remove the transmitter’s cover using the finger latch, it is the larger of the two pieces (some older models may require inserting the flat blade of a small screwdriver into the pry-off slot at the bottom end of the unit on the right side closest to the cover’s decorative ribs and twisting).
2. Remove the existing battery from the transmitter, leave the battery out for at least 30 seconds before putting the new battery in.
3. Observe correct polarity and install a new battery in the battery compartment. Take care not to bend the antenna.
4. Replace the cover by hooking along one edge and snap shut.
5. Activate the transmitter by opening and shutting the door or window.
6. Arm & Disarm your system to clear the trouble condition.

Recessed Window/Door Sensors

These sensors are recessed into the frame of the door or window, remove only the cover from the installed sensor unit.

1. Remove sensor cover with a flat head screwdriver or coin
2. Remove the sensor
3. Remove the existing battery from the transmitter, leave the battery out for at least 30 seconds before putting the new battery in
4. Observe correct polarity and install a new battery in the battery compartment
5. Replace the sensor and sensor cover which should snap in place
6. Activate the transmitter by opening and shutting the door or window
7. Arm & Disarm your system to clear the trouble condition

Regardless of the battery you need; you should be able to acquire them from the Tbaytel Retail Store in the Thunder Center; or at most hardware stores.
