Maintenance of Tbaytel systems and networks is necessary to ensure Tbaytel delivers quality service to you, our valued customers. We apologize for the inconvenience as we continue to make significant improvements to our network to ensure we are meeting your expectations. Troubleshooting Tip: If you are experiencing a loss of service outside of a maintenance window; power off the affected Tbaytel equipment, then power it back on after 30 seconds. For step-by-step instructions, visit the Support section and select the affected product.

Maintenance Alert - Connected Home - Fort William First Nation - Oct 16

Please be advised, Tbaytel will be performing maintenance to its Connected Home services with work taking place on October 16 between the hours of 12:00am to 4:00am.  During this maintenance some customers in Fort William First Nation may experience a loss of their Connected Home services with the outage expected to last an hour. Customers experiencing no service outside the maintenance window are asked to power off their Tbaytel equipment for 30 seconds before powering it back on again.

3G HSPA Shutdown Alert - Hawk Lake - Oct 20

Tbaytel will be performing scheduled 5G upgrades in the Hawk Lake area on October 20,2025 with a maintenance window between 9:00am-10:00am to bring you the fastest most reliable service possible.

During this upgrade period, customers may experience degraded service and intermittent outages of voice, text, and data service. Emergency 911 services will remain operational throughout the maintenance window.

Once the upgrade has been completed, customers using devices with LTE and VoLTE (Voice over LTE) capabilities should not experience any service disruptions. However, customers with older devices that do not support VoLTE calling will lose voice service in the Hawk Lake area.

Planned Network Maintenance - Oct 10 - Nov 24

The following planned intermittent outages are necessary to install new 5G equipment and retire older 3G HSPA and Fixed Wireless Internet service, ensuring you have the fastest, most reliable service possible.

  • Week of Oct 13 - Burditt Lake and New Gold will experience outages for new 5G installation. Burditt will also have a brief outage for 3G HSPA relocation.
  • Week of Oct 20 - Burditt Lake and New Gold Mine will experience outages for new 5G installation.
  • Week of Nov 3 - Morson and Berglund will experience outages for new 5G installation.
  • Week of Nov 10 - Morson and Berglund will experience outages for new 5G installation.
  • Week of Nov 17 - Morson, Berglund, Dearlock, Burditt Lake, and New Gold Mine areas will experience 3G HSPA and Fixed Wireless Internet service Shutdowns. Dearlock will also experience an outage for new 5G installation.
  • Week of Nov 24 - Morson, Berglund, Dearlock, Burditt Lake, and New Gold Mine areas will experience a brief 5G outage (10 minutes) and the final 3G HSPA and Fixed Wireless Internet service Removal
As part of this upgrade, existing 3G HSPA and Fixed Wireless Internet services will be permanently shut down in these areas.
 
During this upgrade period, customers may experience degraded service and intermittent outages of voice, text, and data service from Monday to Friday between the hours of 8:00am-4:00pm. To minimize disruption, customers are advised to enable Wi-Fi calling if supported on their devices before work begins. Learn more about WiFi Calling (VoWiFi) by visiting tbaytel.net/vowifi.

Scam Alert - Ongoing

We are aware of several scams that continue to target our customers by phone and email. Fraudulent emails are being sent, either requesting payment for a non-existent account or claiming you must “update” your email inbox to avoid termination. Some homeowners are also being targeted by phone and asked to download an app.

Please be advised:

  • Tbaytel will never call to ask you to download any apps before an installation or service appointment.
  • Tbaytel will never ask you for payments on non-existent accounts or require you to “update” your inbox.
  • To confirm your bill, use the official myTbaytel App, to verify your account number and total amount owed.

If you receive a suspicious email, do not click any links or provide personal details.
