Tbaytel partnered with the Regional Food Distribution Association (RFDA) by supporting its “Building Hope Campaign”; a huge capital campaign to increase food access, expand educational programs, and foster food security. The 5200 square foot building expansion will allow the RFDA to expand education programs, increase food access, and foster food security.
Tbaytel’s commitment of $200,000 was directed to two new spaces; the Tbaytel Hamper Room and the Tbaytel Living Wall. The Hamper Room is a large, dedicated space which accommodates large groups to gather to create food hampers. The Living Wall is part of the new Gathering Hall which will generate rental revenue and provide community groups with a beautiful space to gather.
The RFDA is meeting a significant challenge head-on as local demand for support has surged by 11%. With 67,000 visits occurring right here in Thunder Bay, the organization is redefining the fight against food insecurity through a stunning new high-end facility and a whole lot of heart.
