We support Early Learning.

  • We provide environments and experiences that engage children in active, creative and meaningful exploration, play and inquiry based learning.
  • We nurture children's healthy development and support family well-being.

We make connections for Families.

  • We support the search for and access to additional supports for children.
  • We provide information and connections to specialized services.
  • We connect families to other programs and services for the whole family by promoting community and partner activities and programs.

Created in 1995, Communities Together for Children has changed over the years to become an EarlyON Child and Family Centre that provides support, resources and services to children and families in their community at two sites – the Northwood EarlyON, and as a partner at the Early Years Community Site.

Our Mission is to improve the quality of life for First Nations Children in remote northwestern Ontario, while meeting their immediate physical needs for food, clothing and basic amenities. We envision a world where every First Nations child is lifted from poverty and lives the good life as described by First Nations teachings.

Our Mission and Vision

Our Mission is to improve the quality of life for First Nations Children in remote northwestern Ontario, while meeting their immediate physical needs for food, clothing and basic amenities. We envision a world where every First Nations child is lifted from poverty and lives the good life as described by First Nations teachings.

Where we work

We work in coordination with the Sioux Lookout First Nations Health Authority to serve 33 First Nations communities across the vast wilderness of Northern Ontario.

This Giving Tuesday, Mikinakoos Children’s Fund will be raising donations to provide free diapers, formula and other baby supplies to Indigenous families in need across Northern Ontario — and they are asking for Thunder Bay’s help to make this campaign a success. By supporting Mikinakoos, you’re providing critical assistance to Indigenous babies and parents during one of the most difficult times in parenthood.

Northern Reach Network

Northern Reach Network

We are a network of volunteers that helps northern fly in communities. From relocating animals from overpopulated communities in need, to supplying northern Ontario communities with food/pet care items and by supporting spay/neuter clinics. We strive to set an example for compassion and care for animals as well as the people who love them. The gift cards and money will help us get food, and get much needed supplies to and from the communities.
