How to I set up parental controls?

Creating parental controls on the Tbaytel WiFi app

Once you have created a user profile, you can assign time limits, account restrictions, and website restrictions that can be configured to ensure age-appropriate and screen time limits are observed. You can also disable that user's internet access for all of their assigned devices without impacting anyone else's devices

To Add a Person

  1. Tap on People, either the icon on the main part of the screen or the bottom menu
  2. Tap the + button at the top right to add a person.
  3. In Add People, you can set a Name in the provided slot
  4. You can add or update the avatar by tapping the pencil icon next to the default
  5. You will be presented with a list of options - tap the checkbox to assign those items to this person.
  6. Tap Save in the top right corner.

A "Profile Created Successfully" message is displayed. With the base profile completed, you can now establish parental controls to ensure the internet experience is in sync with the appropriate user.

Once you have created the profile you can tap onto them and see a variety of options. From here you can manage several features for content & time restrictions based on age ranges and custom settings for apps and websites.

Setting “Internet Access” to off on a User Profile will turn off the internet to any devices that have been assigned to that user, leaving the internet on all other devices fine.

  2. Tap the Time Limits
  3. You can set a time limit for Everyday or Custom
  4. Select your limits
    • Times set are when the internet will be Off
    • Everyday will prompt you to set a Start & Endtime
    • Custom will present each day, when you pick a day it will allow you to add a time range.

Add Restrictions

In the Restrictions section you will be able to turn on things like Safe Search, Youtube Restrictions, Block DNS over HTTPS and Block iCloud Private Relay.

Beyond those quick switches you can then add things like age-based Content Restrictions; Application restrictions and Website restrictions.

Age parameters include: No Restrictions, Child (0-8 yrs old), Pre-teen (9-12 yrs old) and Teen (13-18 yrs old). Depending on which age group selected will determine the automatic restrictions. Restrictions include: Nudity & adult content, gambling sites, alcohol and abused drugs, illegal & criminal content, violence and P2P/File Sharing.

Online shopping, social networking & cloud portals can also be restricted. You can add or remove restrictions as necessary.

Blocking an Application

Sometimes there is an application you would like to block for a user, for example TikTok.

  1. Search by application name, ie: TikTok
  2. You can then select the restriction type
    • Block: Will block all the time
    • Always Allow: Will never block it
    • Allow for: Will block after a specified time period

Blocking a Website

If there is a website that you don’t want a user accessing, you can specifically block it through the content restriction Website section.

  1. From the People screen, select the user you want to apply application restrictions.
  2. Tap Websites.
  3. Begin typing the name of the website you wish to block. Tap Done when complete. The new site appears in the list of restricted websites.
