Tbaytel is once again calling on Northern Ontario’s visionaries to apply for the Tbaytel For Good Community Fund. Starting today, $30,000 is on the table to help transform local visions into reality. From April 6th, 2026, until 4:00 p.m. EST on Wednesday, May 20th, 2026, Tbaytel invites teachers, students, parents, volunteers, not-for-profit organizations, coaches, community members, associations, and all individuals from its service area to apply for funding to help improve their communities through projects, ideas, or initiatives.

Tbaytel is advising Kenora customers and residents of the upcoming communications equipment upgrades to the Deception Bay and Moth cell towers. These upgrades are part of Tbaytel’s ongoing commitment to providing a faster, more reliable network and ensuring better long-term connectivity for the community. To facilitate these improvements, a temporary service outage will be required while the new equipment is installed.

Since 2015, Tbaytel has marked December 1st to 12th with the Tbaytel 12 Days of Christmas campaign, a time to celebrate the season and give back to the communities we serve. The 2025 campaign marks the 10th anniversary of this initiative, through which we deliver surprises, support organizations across northern Ontario, and make the holidays a little more merry and bright.

The free gas fill-ups in Marathon lasted about 2 hours on Monday morning.

Tbaytel was excited to submit a proposal for exclusive primary naming rights for the City’s new Indoor Turf Facility and together with the City of Thunder Bay are proud to announce that Tbaytel was awarded that opportunity. The proposed name, the Tbaytel Multiplex, was officially approved and ratified by City Council on Tuesday, November 4th.
