I am planning to dig in my yard, who do I call?

Utility locates are free and can be submitted 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Anytime you plan to dig in your yard, you should first contact ON1Call; Ontario's centralized underground utility locate centre. ON1Call provides notifications to registered utility owners on behalf of excavators. Free utility locate requests can be submitted 24 hours a day, 7 days a week either online at www.on1call.com or by calling 1-800-400-2255. Remember, locate requests may take up to 5 business days to be complete.

Note: The use of power shovels, trenching or earth-boring machines, picks, shovels or bars may accidentally damage or sever buried cable or pipeline causing injury or death. It is dangerous and unlawful to dig mechanically within one metre of a utility plant. Please be advised that the end of digging season occurs between November 15-30 each year.
