Some devices will show two different 5G icons depending on whether your device is connected to 5G NSA or not.
If your 5G icon has a transparent background, it means that 5G is available, however your device is currently using 4G LTE for data.
If the 5G icon has an opaque background, it means that your device is connected to and using 5G NSA.
