What does the Rogers 3G Shutdown mean for Tbaytel customers?

Learn about how the 3G HSPA decommission will affect you when travelling outside of Tbaytel's service area.

The Rogers 3G network shutdown will only affect a subset of Tbaytel customers who travel outside the Tbaytel network and attempt to connect to the Rogers 3G network. Customers WITHOUT a VoLTE certified device, those who have an HSPA SIM card and Prepaid customers will experience a loss of voice services after Rogers shutdowns their 3G network. These customers will need to upgrade their device/SIM card to a VoLTE certified device and/or 5G SIM card in order to access 4G LTE or 5G service where available.

Customers with 4G LTE or 5G SIM cards and a VoLTE certified device will be able to continue to use their phones normally and should not be impacted.
